Fun Facts

Now that you've had a chance to visit Spittin' Creek, why not settle in and learn a little more `bout llamas and alpacas?

The question we hear most often is `Why llamas and alpacas”? Well that's easy. First off they're a great investment for the whole family. Gentle and quiet animals that don't require lots of upkeep or huge tracts of land. If you have children, llamas or alpacas might be the right choice.

Some full grown llamas can look a feller six foot tall square in the eyes. And they'll weigh anywhere from 300 – 450 pounds full grown. Big as that seems, they're so gentle you can usually trust `em around children and other animals (but common sense is always a good rule of thumb).

Alpacas are smaller than their larger cousin the llama, but they too are gentle and can be trusted around children and other animals. They'll grow to about 3 feet high at the shoulder and weigh 'round 150-185 pounds full grown.

The folks at Spittin' Creek love to show off of Llamas and Alpacas. If you have a parade of other event, just let us know—we may just load 'em up and head your way!
